AIDS 2012: We Can End AIDS, Activists Declare [VIDEO]

About 5000 activists marched from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to the White House on July 24, 2012, demanding more resources and sound public policies in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Five marches converged at Lafayette Park, where several speakers addressed a rally and a dozen protesters were arrested typing red ribbons to the White House fence.

"We could not let this conference come to the US without showing in some compelling ways that we will never end AIDS if we continue to put profit for the few over the needs of the many," said Julie Davids of the HIV Prevention Justice Alliance, one of the organizers of the mobilization.
